Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore aimed to develop and validate a Macronutrient and Taste Preference Ranking Task (MTPRT) in a multiethnic Asian population. The study involved shortlisting 1,770 local food items, classifying their taste clusters, and developing an electronic survey. The MTPRT was then validated among 66 participants, and the results showed that the macronutrient preference scores were positively associated with self-reported macronutrient intakes. The study concluded that the MTPRT is a valid and reproducible tool for evaluating food preferences in multiethnic Asian populations. [Extracted from the article]
