Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Riphah International University in Lahore, Pakistan, explored the effects of Kinect-based Virtual Reality Training (VRT) on physical performance and quality of life in postmenopausal women with osteopenia, a type of metabolic bone disease. The study involved 52 participants who were randomly assigned to either an experimental group or a control group. The experimental group received Kinect-based VRT three times a week for 24 weeks, while both groups were instructed to engage in a daily 30-minute walk. The study found that both groups showed improvements in physical performance and quality of life measures, but the experimental group demonstrated greater improvements. The researchers concluded that Kinect-based VRT is a viable intervention for improving physical performance and quality of life in postmenopausal women with osteopenia. [Extracted from the article]
