Abstract
- Nokia has agreed to acquire Infinera Corp. in a $2.3 billion deal to strengthen its network infrastructure business for broadband and fiber optic networks. The acquisition will help Nokia expand its broadband network business as its mobile infrastructure operations decline. The deal, which includes debt, values Infinera at $6.65 per share. Nokia's network infrastructure business accounted for over a third of its sales last quarter and is now its largest business. The company is relying on this unit to drive growth in the second half of the year as customers increase orders for cloud infrastructure technology. [Extracted from the article]
