Abstract

A recent study conducted at Beijing Sport University aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of different exercise interventions on patients with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. The researchers conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of 19 studies involving 778 participants. The results showed that the Schroth exercises group and the strength training group had better recovery of the Cobb angle, which measures the curvature of the spine, compared to other groups. The study also found that exercising for less than 60 minutes was effective for Cobb angle rehabilitation, but prolonging exercise time did not improve training effectiveness. The research concluded that 12 weeks of exercise significantly improved the Cobb angle, but prolonged training periods did not have a significant impact. This study provides evidence-based exercise prescriptions for adolescents with scoliosis. [Extracted from the article]
