Abstract

A recent study conducted in Jeongeup, South Korea, has analyzed the probiotic properties of Latilactobacillus curvatus CACC879, a strain originating from swine feces in Korea. The complete genome of the strain was found to contain one chromosome and three circular plasmids, encoding a total of 2,077 genes. Notably, the strain also contained genes related to antioxidant and bacteriocin production. The research concludes that L. curvatus CACC879 shows promise as a functional probiotic candidate for the animal industry. For more information, the full study can be accessed through the Journal of Animal Science and Technology. [Extracted from the article]
