Abstract

The Washington Institute for Near East Policy is hosting a virtual Policy Forum featuring U.S. Ambassador Joey Hood, who will discuss the challenges and opportunities the United States faces in countering Chinese and Russian influence in North Africa. The forum will also include a panel discussion on China and Russia's diplomatic, economic, security, and cultural influence in the region. Ambassador Hood has extensive experience in the State Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs and has previously served in Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
