Abstract
- This article discusses a case study of a 35-year-old man with FLNC cardiomyopathy, a rare type of cardiomyopathy with a high risk of arrhythmia. The patient initially presented with symptoms of fatigue and exertional dyspnea, and cardiac imaging revealed significant enlargement of the left ventricle and reduced ejection fraction. After 1.5 years of medical treatment, the patient showed improvement in left ventricular ejection fraction and thickening of the myocardium. However, there was also progression of myocardial fibrosis, indicating that the arrhythmogenic risk associated with FLNC cardiomyopathy may not be changed by functional recovery. Further investigation is needed to understand the relationship between cardiac function and myocardial tissue characteristics in this patient. [Extracted from the article]
