Abstract
- This article discusses the relationship between asthma and obesity and the role of the Munc13-4 protein in regulating these conditions. The study found that mice lacking the Munc13-4 protein showed enhanced eosinophilic inflammation and Th2 cytokine production in the lungs, as well as increased adiposity and decreased glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity. The researchers also discovered that Munc13-4 deficiency in CD11c+ antigen-presenting cells (APC) played a crucial role in promoting asthma, insulin resistance, and white adipose tissue (WAT) inflammation. These findings suggest that targeting and enhancing Munc13-4 functions could be a potential therapeutic strategy for treating both asthma and obesity. [Extracted from the article]
