Abstract

A recent poll conducted by The Washington Post and Ipsos found that 62% of Americans support corporate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts. However, the wording used to describe DEI programs makes a significant difference in public acceptance. When DEI programs were defined as efforts to hire underrepresented groups and promote equity in the workplace, 69% expressed support. In other news, a group of 18 conservative state attorneys general have sued the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) over its expanded harassment guidance, claiming it infringes on religious and speech freedoms. Additionally, a survey by the law firm Littler Mendelson found that U.S. employers are preparing for increased regulatory enforcement and challenges related to artificial intelligence in HR.
