Abstract
- A study conducted by researchers at the South China University of Technology explores the concept of "silicazymes," which are enzymes that have been balanced for both flexibility and stability using inorganic silica precursors. The researchers utilized a multivariate silicification approach to coat individual enzymes with silica, allowing for adjustability and modification. Silicazymes have the potential for various applications in catalysis, separations, and nanomedicine. The study was funded by several organizations, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Science and Technology Project of Guangzhou. [Extracted from the article]
