Abstract
- A report from Shandong Agricultural University discusses research on swine influenza viruses (SIVs) in Shandong Province, China from 2019 to 2022. The study found that 21 reassortant G4 genotype Eurasian avian-like (EA) H1N1 subtypes containing genes from various lineages were isolated. The viruses showed mutation sites that may increase pathogenicity and transmissibility to humans. The research suggests that surveillance should be enhanced to assess the pandemic potential of these viruses. [Extracted from the article]
