Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at the London School of Economics explores the relationship between trust in government, policymaking, and compliance. The study suggests that citizens who trust their government are more likely to comply with policies, which reduces the government's implementation costs and expands the range of possible interventions. The researchers provide empirical evidence supporting their findings using the Integrated Values Survey and voluntary compliance during the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The study has been peer-reviewed and can be accessed through The Economic Journal. Financial support for the research came from Marie Curie Actions. [Extracted from the article]
