Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Children's Mercy Kansas City in Missouri investigated the frequency and consequences of premature pubarche (PP) in children with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). The study included 43 children with PWS, 23 of whom had PP and 20 who had normal pubarche (NP). The researchers found that PP is common in PWS but does not affect final height. Contrary to previous findings in obese children without PWS, obesity and insulin resistance were not associated with PP in children with PWS. [Extracted from the article]
