Abstract

Jasper National Park in Canada's Alberta province has been evacuated due to a wildfire in the eastern section of the park. The town of Jasper, which has about 4,000 residents and attracts millions of tourists each year, has also been ordered to evacuate. The Trans Mountain oil pipeline, which passes through Jasper, is being protected with sprinklers as a precaution. Alberta and British Columbia are currently facing a surge in wildfires amid a heat wave in Western Canada, leading to the evacuation of thousands of people and the curtailment of oil production at the Firebag oil sands site.
