Abstract
- Researchers at Bar-Ilan University have published a report on a pragmatic and integrative model of psychotherapy practice and training. The model focuses on three cardinal questions: identifying clients' unmet needs and the most effective ways to address them, recognizing clients' internal self-states or "modes," and determining the appropriate therapeutic stance in response to clients' current mode. The researchers suggest that clinicians should continually ask and answer these questions collaboratively with their clients. The model offers a process-based approach that can be applied across different therapeutic orientations and is likely to enhance therapeutic alliance and outcomes. [Extracted from the article]
