Abstract
- A study conducted by researchers at the University of Hong Kong has found that double pathogenic mutations in breast cancer patients are rare. The study identified nine Chinese breast cancer patients who were double heterozygous for different hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome-related genes. While Chinese patients with double heterozygosity did not show worse phenotypes or a significantly worse clinical presentation, they had a higher chance of developing bilateral breast cancer compared to other populations. The findings provide valuable information for clinical management and surveillance of breast cancer patients and their families. [Extracted from the article]
