Abstract

Researchers at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia have reported on a case of coexistence between large cell transformed mycosis fungoides (MF) and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) in one patient. The patient, an 81-year-old female, presented with a tumor on her leg and lymphadenopathy in her right axilla. Skin biopsy revealed large atypical CD3+, CD4+, and CD30+ cells consistent with LCT MF, while biopsy of the lymph node revealed diffuse sheets of CD20+, BCL-2+, c-MYC+, and CD10- cells suggestive of double expressor DLBCL. The case highlights the importance of a full pathological workup in cutaneous T-cell lymphoma patients with lymphadenopathy. [Extracted from the article]
