Abstract
- This article from National Geographic Kids tells the story of two young chimpanzees, Felix and Mara, who were rescued by rangers from the Okapi Wildlife Reserve in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The chimps had lost their mothers to poachers and were in poor health. They were taken to the Lwiro Primates Rehabilitation Center, where they received care and attention from human caretakers. As they grew healthier, they were introduced to other young chimps at the center and eventually formed a new family. The article also provides information on the differences between monkeys and apes and offers tips on how to help chimpanzees in the wild. [Extracted from the article]
