Abstract
- A study conducted by researchers from Drexel University aimed to examine the incidence of pediatric narcolepsy diagnosis and management in the United States. The study analyzed insurance claims data and found that the incidence of narcolepsy diagnosis in youth aged 6-17 was 10 per 100,000, with the majority being type 2 narcolepsy. The study also revealed potential disparities in care, with Medicaid-insured youth being less likely to receive clinical care and diagnostic tests compared to commercially insured youth. The findings highlight the need for improved diagnosis and management of pediatric narcolepsy. [Extracted from the article]
