Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at National Taitung University in Taiwan analyzed the implementation of a three-tier quality control system for food businesses in order to enhance food safety. The system includes self-management, external certification, and government inspection. The study found that over 90% of food businesses successfully completed the second-tier certification by the end of 2023. Non-conformity issues mainly arose from violations of good hygiene practices and discrepancies in the execution of the hazard analysis and critical control point system. The researchers concluded that addressing these issues can improve overall food safety by identifying potential risks early on. [Extracted from the article]
