Abstract

A study conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) aimed to understand the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal pathologies affecting the shoulder girdle. The researchers found that these conditions, such as arthritis and bursitis, are relatively rare but can lead to complications and morbidity if misdiagnosed. The study involved a systematic literature search and analysis of 17 relevant studies. The researchers concluded that physical examination tests alone are insufficient for accurate diagnosis and that radiological and anatomical validation is necessary. They developed an algorithm to aid in the diagnosis of shoulder girdle pathologies based on clinical presentation and examination findings. [Extracted from the article]
