Abstract

Liberty to design/manufacture, minimal wastage, complex geometries, and fast prototyping are a few major benefits of additive manufacturing (AM). In recent years, applications and advantages of additive manufacturing have been expanding and providing opportunities to researchers and scholars for more options in it. AM techniques and process have maximum potential to work and develop intricate designs with simplicity and negligible wastage of raw material. Time is required for deep understanding of process and application for which it is being used. In the current study, we will focus on the growth trends and manufacturing industries adapting this technique instead of conventional methods using a case study. In the present paper, limitation of designer/software for additive manufacturing has also been discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
