Abstract
- The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) has announced that they will boycott the Independence Day tea party hosted by state Governor RN Ravi. The TNCC president stated that the party is boycotting the event because Governor Ravi has been obstructing the functioning of the democratically-elected Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government in the state. The Congress leader also criticized the Governor for disregarding the recommendations of the Chief Minister Stalin-led government and delaying assent to over 12 Bills passed by the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. The TNCC president argued that the Governor's actions are in defiance of the Constitution of India and have forced the state government to approach the Supreme Court. [Extracted from the article]
