Abstract
- New research from La Trobe University in Bundoora, Australia explores the mechanism behind the ability of HIV controllers to control viral replication and remain healthy. The study focuses on the HLA-B57:01 molecule, which is expressed by almost 50% of HIV controllers and presents the Gag-derived epitope TW10. The researchers found a bias in TCR gene usage and a public TCR in TW10-specific T cells, indicating their potential role in controlling HIV. The study also provides the crystal structure of HLA-B57:01-TW10 in complex with a TCR, shedding light on the recognition process. [Extracted from the article]
