Abstract

A recent report from the University of Lausanne in Switzerland discusses the measurement of compassion fatigue (CF) in animal health care professionals. CF refers to the emotional and physical exhaustion experienced by professionals in caregiving roles due to prolonged exposure to traumatic events. The study aimed to identify and review the content validity of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) used to measure CF in animal health care professionals. The researchers found that there is a scarcity of studies examining CF within this population, and the quality of evidence for the content validity of the reviewed PROMs is currently low. Further research with a robust methodology is needed to address the identified flaws. [Extracted from the article]
