Abstract

A recent report from the Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences in India discusses a case of a 14-year-old girl with congenital hydrocephalus and early-onset scoliosis who experienced a sudden severe headache after corrective surgery for scoliosis. The girl was found to have cerebellar hemorrhage and obstructive hydrocephalus. Despite initial treatment, the headache persisted until a dural tear at the D10 level was discovered and repaired, resulting in complete relief of the headache. This case highlights the rare occurrence of remote cerebellar hemorrhage following spinal surgeries with associated dural tear. [Extracted from the article]
