Abstract

The article focuses on how implementing sustainable practices as a default option, rather than giving consumers a choice, can enhance moral legitimacy and reduce consumer cynicism. Topics include the impact of default versus choice-based sustainability practices on consumer perceptions; the relationship between moral legitimacy and consumer cynicism; and the effects on purchase intentions and company reputation.
