Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School in China has explored the use of fluorinated NAD precursors to enhance the effectiveness of the NAMPT inhibitor FK866 in treating glioblastoma, a type of brain tumor. The researchers found that the synthesized analogue of nicotinamide riboside (NR), ara-F nicotinamide riboside (F-NR), when combined with FK866, showed promise in inducing cytotoxicity in glioblastoma cells. The study also revealed the sequential nature of events leading to cell death, highlighting the potential for innovative therapeutic interventions in glioblastoma treatment. This research provides valuable insights into the molecular intricacies of glioblastoma cell death and proposes a promising strategy for enhancing the efficacy of FK866. [Extracted from the article]
