Abstract

A study conducted by the University of California Davis in the United States aimed to determine the withdrawal interval (WDI) for pheasants after the administration of fenbendazole medicated feed. The researchers analyzed the pharmacokinetic and residue depletion profile of fenbendazole and its metabolites in liver and muscle samples. The study concluded that fenbendazole sulfoxide (FBZ-SO2) can be used as the marker residue in the liver of pheasants, and recommended a withdrawal interval of 7 days for FBZ-SO2 in pectoral muscle. The research was supported by the Minor Use Animal Drug Program and the United States Department of Agriculture. [Extracted from the article]
