Abstract
- Researchers at the University of Southern California (USC) have conducted a study on the perioperative and extended outcomes of patients undergoing parastomal hernia repair following cystectomy and ileal conduit. The study included 36 patients with a median age of 79 years. The researchers found that 47% of patients experienced a recurrence of hernia following repair, with a median follow-up time of 2 years. The study also found that there was no significant difference in recurrence rates based on repair technique or the use of open or minimally invasive approaches. This research provides valuable insights into the outcomes of parastomal hernia repair in this patient population. [Extracted from the article]
