Abstract

According to a preprint abstract from biorxiv.org, researchers have discovered a new mode of cell migration involving ruffle-edge lamellipodia that are dependent on the protein ACTN4. The study used live-cell imaging and correlative light and electron microscopy to identify these lamellipodia, which were found to be highly dynamic and associated with cell migration. The researchers also observed similar lamellipodia in invasive cancer cells. The findings suggest that ruffle-edge lamellipodia may play a role in active cell migration and invasion in certain types of cancer. However, it is important to note that this preprint has not yet undergone peer review. [Extracted from the article]
