Abstract
- A recent report from Kameda Medical Center in Chiba, Japan, discusses the case of a 34-year-old woman with stage IV breast cancer and metastatic lung cancer who was treated with cryoablation as a first-line treatment. The patient received chemotherapy and targeted therapy before undergoing minimally invasive cryoablation and radiation therapy. After five years of follow-up, the patient showed a complete local response with no evidence of disease progression. The researchers concluded that cryoablation can be a safe and effective treatment option for stage IV breast cancer, preserving quality of life and offering favorable cosmetic results.
