Abstract
- Thermolysis of acrylic artificial stones of various brands was studied by thermal desorption mass spectrometry. The energies of the observed processes were evaluated. The thermolysis of the materials at 350–700 K is accompanied by a release of methyl methacrylate with varying degrees of intensity. Auxiliary substances used in the synthesis of polymers, including toxic phthalates, were isolated; their release was maximum at 460 K. The heat resistance of various acrylic stone samples was estimated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
