Abstract

A recent study conducted by Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in Turkey examined the prevalence of endocrine and metabolic comorbidities in pediatric patients with craniopharyngiomas (CPG). The study found that CPG patients often experience hormone abnormalities, including deficiencies in thyroid-stimulating hormone, adrenocorticotropic hormone, antidiuretic hormone, growth hormone, and gonadotropin. The research also revealed challenges in managing CPG, with hesitancy among physicians regarding the use of recombinant growth hormone treatment. The study suggests that early interventions, such as dietary restrictions and increased exercise, should be implemented to prevent obesity in these patients. [Extracted from the article]
