Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at the University of Colorado examined the impact of parents' health behaviors on their preschool children's behaviors in low-income communities in the United States. The study found that parent health behaviors, such as fruit and vegetable intake, beverage intake, physical activity, and screen time, significantly predicted child health behaviors. This relationship did not vary based on ethnicity. The researchers concluded that efforts to promote a healthy lifestyle in children should consider family practices and the wider social context.
