Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at Helwan University explored the effectiveness of a home-based early intervention program called the Portage program on reducing parenting stress and enhancing child development in autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The study included 41 children diagnosed with ASD and their parents, and found that after a 3-month engagement with the Portage program, parents experienced a significant reduction in stress and increased awareness of ASD. The children also showed improvements in social, language, self-help, cognitive, and motor skills, as well as general developmental age and ratio. This research provides valuable insights into the benefits of early intervention programs for families and children with ASD. [Extracted from the article]
