Abstract

A recent study conducted in Nanjing, China explored how Chinese parents of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) seek information. The study found that parents primarily relied on social media sources, such as WeChat public accounts and groups, for information. Their source preference criteria were limited and focused on experiential, proactive, and professional aspects. The study also revealed that parents tended to either monitor a single information source or use up to two sources, without forming longer pathways. This research provides insights into the information-seeking behavior of parents of children with ASD and may inspire further studies in other groups. [Extracted from the article]
