Abstract

Waverley Mills, Australia's oldest operating textile mill, has been producing high-quality woollen blankets since 1874. The blankets are made from locally sourced wool and woven by skilled artisans, resulting in a superior product compared to overseas alternatives. Head weaver Andrew Monaghan, who has been with the mill for 30 years, plays a vital role in the production process. Waverley Mills has partnerships with well-known Australian brands and has recently switched to using locally sourced wool for all of their products. The mill takes pride in supporting local farmers and maintaining a strong supply chain. [Extracted from the article]
