Abstract

Researchers at Changchun University of Chinese Medicine have conducted a study on the sesquiterpenes found in Dendrobium nobile, a species of the genus Dendrobium that is used as both a medicinal herb and healthy food. Using advanced chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques, they were able to characterize 594 sesquiterpene compounds, including six new compounds. In vitro bioassays showed that these compounds exhibited neuroprotective activity. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the quality control of D. nobile.
