Abstract

A recent study conducted by Yonsei University College of Medicine in South Korea explored the psychological determinants of health checkup participation. The study used data from a nationwide, longitudinal panel study conducted from 2005 to 2022. The results showed that individuals with higher levels of life satisfaction and self-esteem were more likely to participate in health checkups. The study also found positive associations between health checkup participation and age, income, and educational level. Although the effect sizes were modest, the findings suggest that psychological factors play a role in health checkup participation. [Extracted from the article]
