Abstract

A recent study conducted at the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania, aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of a Romanian-language version of the MacArthur Admission Experience Survey (R-AES) and identify predictors for higher perceived coercion in psychiatric inpatients. The R-AES showed satisfactory internal consistency and a three-factor solution explaining 69.1% of the variance. Higher scores on the survey were associated with involuntary admission, objective coercive measures, younger age, frequent past hospitalizations, treatment non-compliance, psychosis, mania, greater disease severity, aggression, and presentation by police or ambulance. This research has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
