Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. has discovered a rare renal anomaly known as a pancake kidney. The researchers conducted anatomical and histological analyses on this anomaly and compared it to a normal kidney. The pancake kidney was found to have characteristics of renal disease, such as focal segmental glomerulosclerosis and dilated renal tubules. However, due to the limited number of published case reports, little information is available about the anatomy and development of pancake kidneys. Further studies are needed to determine potential pathologies associated with this condition. [Extracted from the article]
