Abstract
- A recent study conducted at Gangneung-Wonju National University in South Korea explored the anti-inflammatory effects of a lipocalin-like protein called OJlipo1, derived from Oenanthe javanica. The researchers cloned and expressed OJlipo1 in E. coli and conducted rigorous characterization to evaluate its potential against inflammation. The study found that OJlipo1 has significant anti-inflammatory potential, particularly in diseases associated with toll-like receptor 4 dysregulation. These findings validate the traditional use of O. javanica in treating inflammation and suggest new therapeutic possibilities. The research has been peer-reviewed and published in the journal Food Science and Biotechnology. [Extracted from the article]
