Abstract
- Biobanks are being established to preserve and potentially restore genetic diversity in the face of the global biodiversity crisis. These biobanks allow scientists and conservationists to overcome the fragmentation of wildlife populations and use assisted reproduction technologies. The BioRescue team has developed an ethical assessment tool called ETHAS to evaluate the ethical considerations related to biobanking. This tool helps ensure that decisions regarding biobanking are made in a safe, transparent, and ethically appropriate manner. The goal is to establish high ethical standards in biobanking procedures and integrate them into routine conservation efforts. [Extracted from the article]
