Abstract

A report from Sao Paulo, Brazil discusses the use of complementary and alternative veterinary medicine (CAVM) and the need for more rigorous research on its clinical effectiveness. The study focused on systematic reviews of homeopathy, acupuncture, and phytotherapy in veterinary medicine. The researchers found that the systematic reviews of homeopathy were of sufficient quality to assess reliable evidence, while the reviews of acupuncture and phytotherapy were of low quality. The study concludes that contemporary high-quality systematic reviews are needed in each of these areas of CAVM. [Extracted from the article]
