Abstract

Researchers from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center have released a new report on the immunobiology of myelodysplastic neoplasms (MDS). The report focuses on the interactions between immune cells, cytokines, and dysplastic cells within the tumor microenvironment in the bone marrow. It discusses how immune dysregulation and evasion impact the initiation and progression of MDS, as well as resistance to therapy and progression to acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The report also highlights various therapeutic strategies and proposes future research directions to enhance clinical outcomes and survival for MDS patients. [Extracted from the article]
