Abstract

This article discusses the management of fetal cardiac resuscitation during fetal cardiac intervention (FCI) in cases of severely obstructed left heart and a restrictive or intact atrial septum. The study reports on five fetal cases that underwent cardiac compressions, including one fetus that required resuscitation after ventricular fibrillation. The authors describe their institutional resuscitation strategy, which involves using ultrasound guidance to assess the depth and quality of compressions. The article also highlights the success of cardiac compressions in restoring normal sinus rhythm in all five fetuses. The authors recommend standardized dilutions of resuscitative drugs for fetal resuscitation during FCI. [Extracted from the article]
