Abstract
- A research study conducted at the University of Ha'il in Saudi Arabia has explored the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using a probiotic strain called Lactobacillus salivarius (L. salivarius). The study found that these AgNPs-LS demonstrated various biological activities, including antibacterial, antibiofilm, anti-quorum sensing, antifungal, antioxidant, anticancer, anticoagulant, and thrombolytic properties. The researchers concluded that the biogenic synthesis of AgNPs-LS using L. salivarius offers a sustainable and cost-effective method for producing AgNPs with a wide range of potential applications in healthcare, such as antimicrobial treatments, cancer therapy, biofilm inhibition, antioxidant therapy, and as anticoagulant and thrombolytic agents.
