Abstract
- A recent study conducted in Higashiosaka, Japan, explored the use of plasma renin activity (PRA) as a biomarker for predicting the antihypertensive effect of switching to sacubitril/valsartan (Sac/Val) in patients with treated hypertension. The study found that clinic blood pressure significantly decreased after switching to Sac/Val, and PRA before drug switching was significantly correlated with the change in systolic blood pressure. The researchers concluded that low PRA may be a useful marker for predicting the antihypertensive effect of switching to Sac/Val in treated hypertensive patients. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in The Journal of Clinical Hypertension. [Extracted from the article]
