Abstract
- A new study conducted by researchers at the Institute of Physiology in Berlin, Germany, explores the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in accurately measuring blood pressure (BP). The study focuses on impedance cardiography (ICG) as a potential alternative to cuff-based BP measurement, which can be inaccurate and uncomfortable. The researchers analyzed ICG data from 71 healthy adults and evaluated nine different machine learning algorithms for BP estimation. The study found that ICG-based machine learning algorithms showed promise in accurately estimating arterial BP, offering the potential for improved patient care and treatment decision-making, particularly in post-surgical and intensive care environments.
